What Are You Passionate About ?





Blogging ideas are abundant, and it is up to you to find the topic or niche you are interested in and passionate about. Passion will show through in your content, and will make the process of writing much easier, and readers will notice this. That is what makes each blogger different from another, even if they are writing about a similar topic. You will have a unique writing style, a way of presenting your content, perhaps with humor, personal stories, sarcasm, or whatever fits your personality.

When exploring potential blogging ideas, you should consider the competition you will face. If you really want to write about a popular topic, you should look at other people's blogs, read what they are saying, and analyze where there are gaps that are not being addressed, and fill in these gaps with your own content. By doing this, you may be onto a sub-niche within this larger niche.

If you are a book lover, you could write reviews on books and what you learned from them. You could also write reviews about products on the market, computer software, exercise equipment, or the pros and cons of buying particular items. You could talk about a hobby you have, write a beginners how-to-guide, or express an opinion on recent news events as they are occurring. Some people do not like to read as much as seeing, so you could even shoot your own videos. By doing this, readers will have a visual of you and know that you are a real person. What a great idea. In addition, there are many more ideas you can come up with by doing a search on Google and Yahoo.

You can let the creative juices flow while thinking about blogging ideas as long as you provide informative, interesting, and original content. You also need to have a set schedule of when you will write a blog so that your readers will be able to rely on you as they eagerly wait for your next post. Remember to make sure you use targeted keywords and phrases that will be found by the search engines and have strategies in place to monetize your blog. After all, you want to be considered as an authority on your topic and trusted by your readers, and when you offer products or services that will provide a solution to their problems, they will be more likely to buy.

In concluding, you can come up with an idea for a blog as long as you have a passion for your topic and are able to provide good content. It may take a while for your readership to build so do not give up and keep blogging away. After all, success does not come overnight. Your passion and persistence will lead to profits.

Does Mindset Help You to Be a Better ?




When I first started blogging I would have said "no" to the above question, but over the past few years I've changed my mind. Your mindset is one of the most important aspects to have if you want to be as good as you can be as a blogger.

Blogging can be a frustrating thing to do at times. If you want to be a good blogger you have to post regular content on your site, which means that you will have to research your topics before you write. This can take time and take you away from what you really want to do.

If you sit down to write and are not in the mood to write, then get up and do something different to take your mind off it. If you're telling yourself, "I don't know what to write about", then your mind will go blank. It's often while you're doing mundane things that the ideas will start to flow.

Read some of the blog topics from your favourite bloggers to gain inspiration for your own topic. You'll be amazed at how quickly the ideas will start flowing, so write them down while they're fresh in your mind. You may find that you'll come up with a few different ideas to focus on later which will be a bonus.

I also find that if I'm completely relaxed I tend to write better and the words just flow onto the page. If you have issues affecting your state of mind you will not be able to write efficiently. Before I sit down to write I make sure that I'm comfortable and have either a cup of coffee in front of me.

Getting your ideas down on paper in a lucid fashion does take a bit of practice, but after a while it becomes very easy to do. Don't write your blogs in a technical way. If you write in a more conversational way then you have a much better chance of your blog articles being read.

To produce a great blog post, think about what you're writing about and write it down. You can always come back a bit later and change sentences etc., but at least you have it written and it may give you more ideas for much more content. You could also write down bullet points about what you want to discuss and then expand on them. The mind is a wonderful tool so give it some ideas and let it go to work for you.

Search Engine Optimization is a process whereby websites and blogs are configured in order to gain top ranking for search results on Google, Yahoo, Bing or any other search engine. What good S.E.O. is supposed to do is to give your website or blog high visibility in searches for key words contained in your blog. When I encountered the term S.E.O. for blogs, a lot of people were marketing the idea that the right S.E.O. could "explode your traffic" and "get you tons of leads, subscribers, etc". Back then, it was an enticing prospect and I bought into the idea.
By reading through all the material I could find, I managed to understand enough S.E.O. and apply what I've learned on my own website.
But after months of using a writing style that accommodated S.E.O., I realized that I was writing in a rather odd way; quite different from the conversational style that I try to manifest in whatever I am writing about.

I am not saying that writing in a conversational and engaging manner is not possible with S.E.O.

What I am pointing at is that, personally, it's something that I'd prioritize next to last so that I can get my writing groove on. Dealing with a writer's block is bad news enough by itself. Dealing with a writer's block and having to construct an article with S.E.O. in mind is even worse.
Between writing a good blog post and writing a good article with S.E.O., the new blogger ought to choose to focus on coming up with enough quality content to make a good blog post.

Why?

After people find your blog post, the next thing they'll do should be to read it. There is not much sense in having your blog post found through great S.E.O. if the next thing they'll do is hit the 'back' button and skedaddle of to another site or blog.

Step Third: THINK

Critical thinking is key to writing any good article. A good quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln by a friend says, "Give me six hours to chop a tree and I'll spend the first four hours sharpening the ax."
Critical thinking involves a process which involves examining information, checking personal biases, and making decisions.
The quality of one's thinking will always be reflected in the quality of one's writing.

Step Fourth: WRITING

The easiest and best way to come up with a title for your blog post is to include words that would simply yet accurately describe the content of your blog post. You can be as creative and interesting with the title as you want, but make sure that you include words or a central phrase that will tell the reader what the blog post is about.

The first paragraph of your post should include an interesting proposition, but keep it short.

The body of the entire document should be organized depending on the type of article you are writing. It is best to be adept at using the structures of essays, fiction writing, and news writing.
Others blog by donning a 'persona' and this can have interesting results.
But at the end of it, what people will be looking for is not just information or entertainment, but rather ideas and experiences that will help them come up with their own ideas and experiences.

Blogs have come along way in the last decade, from websites that were used solely for people to upload their thoughts to the internet to to resources that are being used by businesses all around the world.

It might be an answer to a question some of your customers have about your products or it could involve you providing information on the history of your company, but irrelevant of what it is, you can guarantee that at least a certain amount of your readers will be particularly interested in the topic.

What Will You Do When You Are Exhausted and Uninspired ?




Ever sit down at the computer to blog and the words just don't come out? Your fingers are poised over the keyboard but the voices in your head are busy telling you that you've had a long day, there are a million other things you need to get done and it's past your bedtime.

On those days, it doesn't matter how many great sources I look at for inspiration, or fantastic blog post prompts I've got, or how many different article templates I browse through. All the great advice about "write in advance" and "keep a list of ideas" isn't helpful when you're stuck. Sometimes our brains just need a break and they go on strike until we take some time off to recharge.

So what can you do when you want/need to blog but it's the last thing you feel like doing and ideas just don't seem to be coming? Never fear! Here are some simple ideas to help you survive and get a blog post published quickly.

Try Something Different

Sometimes a different medium can be inspiring.
Do an audio post - just record your thoughts with AudioBoo or Cinch.fm and add it to a post.
Do a video post - turn on the webcam and talk, or do a screencast recording with Jing.

Share Something Cool From Someone Else's Brain

Your brain wants a break. Be nice and give it a break. You could share :
  • a YouTube video
  • an article
  • a resource or tool you like or that's been helpful for you
  • some cool links/bloggers you've run across in the past week
  • share a post with links to your best past posts on a topic (like your best advice for bloggers, your 5 most popular recipes, the most commented stories you've shared, etc.)

Take Time Out & Share It

Give yourself a break, take a walk, go to the library, grab a mocha, read a book, do something to recharge your batteries, then share about what you did to get away.
I'd love to see a photo of the sunset where you are. Or that peaceful spot you like to sit and think. It's probably not what you usually blog about, but it's okay to show the personal side of yourself and give your readers something to connect with.
Your readers probably need to relax, too, and just might follow your lead and be thankful.

Increase turnover, the prospects for 'give' to the company

It is amazing to think how many websites are built without a purpose or success criteria. These sites will get a visual "terdesain", the existence of the content will be "dropped in" and six months later would drown.
If this is a "siren" then you think it's time to re design your website.
Although relatively simple to build a basic website, but it will involve a lot of propositions to build a good website.
The first step is to set some goals and success criteria for your site. What exactly are you trying to accomplish and how will you know when you've reached it? Who are your users, what you want them to do and what they want you to do?

With corporate goals and understanding your visitors can make informed decisions about how the site visits, work and sound. Is the site design back to your destination? Is the navigation to encourage people to click on the section they want to click? What about the content - whether it has the right tone? Does it encourage people to donate, sign up for newsletters, or read the article?

Make the site easier to use, to help visitors find what they (and you) want

We've all been there before. You have found a website through search engines or by following the link on the site. Once you are specifically looking for and trying everything possible but you do not find what you are looking for. It's as if the site is conspiring against you and you feel that it is a mistake you will diuar.

Well here is news flash: It's not your fault, this is the fault of the website! First and foremost, a website should be easy to use and easy to navigate. If you can not find what you are looking for, if the site navigation to make you frustrated or feel stupid, cause the website does not do his job.

Web designers and site owners are sometimes wrong in seeing this problem because they are so familiar with the contents of the site design and navigation. Others because of lack of planning and bad design.
Whatever the reason, the redesign of the site will allow you to listen to your users, seeking to find out what helps them (and what is frustrating them) and build a site that is easier to use and thus more effective.

Make the content more relevant, communicate with your stakeholders to be more effective

You may have seen common themes emerged among the main reasons for us to redesign and now it is time to "dismantle the land". Having relevant content is one of the most important thing about having a web that exists.

relevant content that does not mean the replication of brochures, leaflets and advertisements. But it also means providing an interesting and useful content for your site visitors in addition to supporting the core objectives.

Content needs to be written specifically for the web. Why? because people do not read websites like reading the print media. Most people scan through web pages and determine whether the page would be pointless. In one song they would decide to read the page.

This is why web copy should be short, punchy and to the point. Main concepts that need to stand out and not hidden in the yard.

Turn Your Site Into a Profitable Asset




We each have our different reasons for blogging, and they are probably as wide and varied as the niches that we’ve chosen to write about. One thing that I do find is that my blog attracts other bloggers who are interested in not only earning money online, but more specifically from their blogs.

The first thing you need to do is develop a traffic strategy for your blog, because without traffic it’s going to be tough developing any type of income streams from it. If you aren’t already receiving at least 100 to 200 visitors a day according to Google Analytics,  then you should be investing all your time and energy into first growing those traffic stats.

Once you’ve developed a steady stream of traffic, and started to build a solid community around your blog you can start testing which revenue models are likely to work best for you. The worst thing you can do financially at this point is to simply add something like AdSense, or banner ads into your site, and then sit back waiting for the money to roll in. Chances are that while you’re waiting for that flow of money, you’ll be missing out on just that.

Each blog is going to respond differently to the different revenue models that are available to it. This can be due to your market, your audience, or perhaps even your own predication towards certain methods or aversions to others. Whatever the case happens to be, it’s in your best interest to find the ones that work best for you and your blog and work to develop them.

Google AdSense

Now while this is probably the most common method used by bloggers it isn’t always the best one for everyone. With that said, it’s one of the easiest to implement and you can start to see clicks and revenue coming in right away. The problem for many though is that, that click that carried away your visitor to someone else’s website could have been someone you yourself could have serviced or sold to if you’d only known what they were interested in and offered a similar product that was competitively priced on your own site, this is where testing, tracking, and tweaking come into play.
Banner Advertising

I love banners advertising because you can set them up to actually be of benefit to your readers. If you have a web design blog, and your ads are tools, and services that other designers will need or find use for then it doesn’t feel so much like advertising, more of an added service for them.

There are a few routes you can go with banners, and probably the easiest and most affordable is the OIO Publisher plugin that lets you manage your ad space like a pro. This little plugin has made me more money than any other plugin I’ve ever used, and I’ll forever be a fan of it. You can set up ad spots around your blog and then set the prices you’d like to get for them.

One of the features I love most about it is that you can add in your own banners, or affiliate banners when they aren’t fully sold out. This provided you with a full looking ad center while allowing you to earn from product sales, or affiliate sales.

Ad Management Services

If there is a downside to using OIO Publisher it is that you have to not only manage your ad center, but you are constantly looking for advertisers to fill those spots on your site. Using a 3rd party to manage your ad space will mean that it’s more a hands off process, and also they typically have a much larger audience of potential advertisers to pull from. You can likely expect to lose anywhere from twenty-five to fifty percent of the price for management fees.

Sponsored Tweets

Most bloggers have a Twitter account that they use exclusively for their site, and invest time and energy toward building it up, often into the tens of thousands of followers. Having a targeted audience also has advertising value, and the more tightly focused, or specific your niche is, generally the higher the price your account can command. It isn’t uncommon for an account to charge $30.00 for a single 140 character message.

Sponsored Reviews

Quite a few bloggers have found a lucrative area to be writing reviews on products or services that their readers are likely to already be using in their day to day lives. These reviews when done correctly can end up being of service to your visitors who may have landed on your page solely to read your review before purchasing (or deciding not to purchase) the item in question. The company being reviewed comes away with a greater insight into their product and how it is viewed my people in the marketplace.

A Review shouldn’t be good or bad, merely informative, and encompassing the points that a typical user might find of interest. Writing that a product is lacking the ability to do some core function that might be important shouldn’t be considered a bad thing, but merely an opportunity for the developer to take that feedback into consideration and perhaps integrate it into the product at the time of its next update. Not all reviews are about how amazing and wonderful a product, or service is.

E-Mail Marketing

Using your blog to capture subscribers and potential clients, or customers is nothing new, but quite often it ends up being an afterthought that gets implemented after several months, or even years. Building your list should be something that gets started as quickly as possible so that you can enjoy the compound effects toward your list’s growth. Your list is a great place for you to work on building a relationship with your readers, which will in turn build a level of trust with them. People buy from people they not only know, but also people they trust.

E-Books

Writing an e-book on a subject that your readers are interested in is not only a great way to show how knowledgeable you are on your chosen topic, but can also be a great way to add an extra revenue stream into your blog. I’m going to assume that since you blog, you’re comfortable writing and can probably finish a solid 100 page book in about a month’s time.

Your readers will be much more inclined to purchase an e-book that you’ve personally written since they are already familiar with your writing style, and enjoy it enough to return time and time again. You can then easily integrate it into your sales funnel offering them a special discount for being one of your valued subscribers.

Training Courses

Developing a course designed to provide a solution to a problem your readers are likely to face is also a great way to showcase your expertise, and add another layer of income to your blog. While there is a lot more involved in a product launch than an e-book, the rewards are also generally much higher. It’s important to put together a quality product, and not try to rush the process. There will likely come a time when you are ready to put out a second course, and having a list of previous happy customers can be a great boost to your second launch.

Digital Products

For some of you, your talents might not lay so much in writing or producing video courses, but perhaps you are talented programmers or designers. Designing a professional Blogger theme to sell, or a premium plugin can be an excellent way to increase profits. Since this area is reserved for programmers or those willing to hire a freelance programmer the competition in this area is also much less, and your chances of standing out, much greater.

Services

Many blog owners have found a lucrative market selling the very services they use daily themselves for their own blogs, and have hung out their own shingle selling things like writing services, WordPress installations, or link building, just to name a few. If you have skills that others do not, or perhaps you have a secret for doing things quicker than everyone else, perhaps adding a “Services” page to your blog is one way you can generate an additional income stream.

Affiliate Marketing

As each day passes and we write an ever increasing number of articles on countless topics, we are bound to mention a brand or two. If that company has an affiliate program then including an affiliate link to check out the product could result in some great passive income that comes in for years to come. Integrating an affiliate strategy into your blog is definitely something to consider.
These are just a few of the methods you can look to implement into your own blog, but the most important thing to remember when attempting to develop a profitable blog is that if you want your blog to produce like a business, you have to treat it like a business. This means structured planning and growth, a commitment towards the work that’s involved in growing not only its traffic and income levels, but all other aspects as well. Building a business isn’t an easy task, nor is it something that happens overnight.

Having a blog for a business is rewarding in so many ways for so many people, and as someone who does it full time as a means to earning  living.

How Can We Do That?

1. Keyword Research

Know your competition. Use some free tools like SEOmoz Term Extractor, Open Site Explorer and Alexa Search Analytics to keep tabs on hot keywords in your niche. Take notes on what keywords your competitors rank highly for, which keywords rank poorly for them, and even the mediocre terms.

These tools also help you keep tabs on keywords that are diminishing in use so that you can update your website accordingly. Older websites, i.e., established domains, have more trust than newer websites, so older sites tend to rank higher for those mediocre terms than fresh competitors.

2. On-Page Optimization

Make sure to use keywords in outgoing links, title tags, meta descriptions, H1 and H2 headers, in bold face, and in the ALT text of images. Keep “keyword density” in mind here. Keyword density is the ratio of keywords and key phrases to the total number of words on a page. Blogs benefit from a keyword ratio of 2% to 5%, while the optimum ratio for eCommerce websites is slightly higher at 4% to 8%.

3. Content Like No Other

When writing about the latest product or event in your niche, avoid regurgitating what your competitors have written on the topic. Go into greater depth where possible with facts, stats and graphs or charts. When writing opinion pieces or reviews, do so with more clarity and depth than your competition. In short, valuable content is writing that’s easy to understand, factual (therefore reliable), and straight to the point.

4. Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising

Paying to have your website at the top of the search engines guarantees more traffic, a precursor to potential sales. The PPC model is affiliate-based, and as a merchant you want solid affiliates. The cost per click (CPC) paid to search engines varies based on factors such as which search engine is used, keyword competitiveness, the day and time a visitor is surfing the web, along with visitor interest, intent and location. Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft adCenter operate under a complex bid-based model.

5. Linking

Building quality backlinks takes time, but the rewards can be tremendous. The goal is to have websites that rank high in the search engines link back to you. This generates a ton of traffic.

6. Blogging

Run a companion blog to your website that shows customers you are passionate about your niche. Not just passionate about what can be sold, but a fellow enthusiast, be it camping, marketing, martial arts, whatever. Use SEO techniques to get your blog ranked higher so web surfers can share in your enthusiasm for a given niche, and then find your website.

The True Blogger




Auto blogger have been the talk of the web for quite some time now, but for what? Auto blogger bring nothing new to the online world. These people strive to steal others works, take credit, and make money from it, but this isn’t funny. A lot of blogger are sick and tired of auto blogger ranking for their keywords – and quite frankly, we are too.

How do we stop an Auto Blogger?

Easy, beat them at their own game – write quality content, and drive back link towards your site – that way, they have to work harder, and can’t compete against us. Google has been knocking out a lot of auto blog websites from search, and that’s good news, because true webmasters should be winning – and its always been that way, quality content, over spam.

What if an Auto Blogger is beating us?

Step up our content writing skills, and guest posts along the way – also build more links – either through link exchanging, press releases, or article marketing – I’ve yet to see a true webmaster get beat by an auto blogger, why?
Because Auto Blogging is bad, and very annoying – its not unique, its copying, and really if you copy someone, then strive to be better than them – sure, you can have a highly ranked auto blogger, but what if someone reports you? Then, you’re screwed.

So, one thing maybe useful to all blogger is – work hard if an auto blogger is beating – strive to have the best content, and strive to outlast auto blogger – if Google can strive to knock these people out, so can us.

So, focus on not auto blogger, but focus on quality content that helps our rank higher – for certain keywords, because we all know that "Content is King", but it has to be of quality, that way people link us and come to our site for resource – and being unique – nobody likes a copycat – and nobody likes people that copy in order to succeed – so if we run an autoblog, then we need to focus on developing other sites, that aren’t using other’s RSS feeds for content – or anything of that matter.

It’s not hard to come up with our content, its actually quite easy if we’re a true blogger, or SEO (Search Engine Optimization) person that knows how to be creative – so the fact remains, auto blogger is dead, and true SEO is back.

Great job Google for dropping the ban hammer on a lot of the cheating webmasters – they give "true" SEO a bad name, why?
Auto blogging sucks and so does the people that copy other’s content – we’re sick of it, Google is sick of it, and I’m pretty sure a lot of other search engines will follow.

Match Your Blog Style to Your Market , The Great Blog Identity Crisis








Any advertising agency, SEO content writer, or other person in the online industries will tell you that style is as important as any other factor in making your blog work.

The problem is that there are too many How To manuals about blogging, and not enough emphasis on talent, style and depth. Everyone is bombarded with dogma about how to write, how to do their SEO, and if the principles are OK, the trouble is that the in practice, everyone looks pretty much the same.

People often really suffer trying to come up with a good blog identity. The choice is being just another apple in a truckload of apples, or being the orange that stands out in the field. Do yourself a favour - Be yourself.


The Style Issues

One of the biggest issues in writing is style. A lot of blogs have a sort of default style guide, sticking to things like AP style or business writing and journalism styles. That’s not necessarily fatal for basic content, but it can read like a shopping list. Unless your content is absolutely 100% original, brand new information, its impact is likely to be minimal.

Style is character, and character is what actually sells. Marlboro and Lucky Strike, for instance, are in the same market, selling cigarette. What sells is the image, the associations and the cultural character, as much as the actual products themselves. Much the same applies to fast food and other high turnover consumables.

Note the word, "turnover". Blogs turn over a lot of materials, just like other consumer products. New content is the big driver for blogs. Blogs need this new content the way people need to breathe. That’s why establishing your own life support system for your blog is so important. People read blogs for various reasons, but they become regular readers because they like them or something about them.

The identity


The basic rules for creating an identity are:

* Don’t feel limited, or limit yourself using a specific style. There’s no compulsion to use any particular style. Do what works best.

* Be yourself. You can produce better quality and much more natural, fluent content simply by sticking to your style, not aping someone else’s.

* If you can innovate, innovate. Unique materials are the best possible character reference for any blog and a good memory aid for users. People remember the differences, not the similarities.

* Do not, under any circumstances, copy a look or a style. These are the quick ways to become anonymous.

* SEO and unique characteristics work well together. The fact is that blog ID is based on the unique features. The more, the better. This is a basic principle of search engine optimization, and it’s the only way to systematically improve your page rankings.

* If other blogs are doing something, do it better, or don’t do it at all. This is just basic marketing, but if you’re looking for results, be the best or be doing something else.

Your blog’s identity is who you are, to your market. Think of self-image, and how you want yourself and your blog to be seen. The rest is comparatively easy.

Keyword Research Very Important for Us





When you start up your blog there are a million things to worry about, choosing a quality domain name that is both memorable and carries some SEO benefit with it. Wondering which CMS platform you should choose, and then which framework and perhaps theme. There are so many variables going in that you might overlook one of the most important steps in the process, and live to regret it later on down the road when you realize it’s been a year, and you’re only getting a handful of visitors to your blog still.

Proper keyword research isn’t just choosing the five top keywords you think people will type in to find sites like yours and hoping for the best. Instead invest the time and energy into locating all the words surrounding those five words, and delving in further to see just how much traffic they actually can be expected to bring you if you do manage a first place ranking. For example I rank #1 for Twitter Marketing.

I knew before I started ranking for this keyword that the competition was fairly high (they recommend you look for sites with less than 100,000 competing pages) at 1.1 million competing pages, but I also know Google views my site with some level of authority and I could probably pull it off. Now Market Samurai shows the maximum potential traffic I could expect with a #1 ranked site is 75 visitors a day for that keyword. Now that I’ve ranked that one, I can move on to another keyword that can be expected to bring in visitors to my site, and over time I’ll have the five or so thousand visitors a day I’m looking for.

Do you know what you currently rank for? Are you tracking those keywords? Improving them so they move up in ranks, and so provide you with a higher volume of traffic? The difference in the traffic you’ll receive between ranking on page two, and ranking on page one can be considerable. The difference between ranking first and ranking third can also be huge. It’s hard to toss numbers about with any type of accuracy since there are just too many variables, but a guideline you could use is this.

So as you can see here if a search term is getting 1000 searches a day the first ranked site is getting approximately 350 visitors to his website for that one keyword. Chances are he isn’t targeting just one keyword, and even if he ranks higher up for some of his other keywords, you can see how the cumulative traffic would start to add up.

If you’re looking to increase the level of traffic you are currently receiving on your blog, one of the simplest ways is to improve the position of a bunch of the keywords you currently rank for. Let’s use an example; we’ll take a website that is getting 100 visitors a day off of just 5 keywords. Ranking on those keywords hasn’t been his focus so he’s further down the page so there is lots of room for improvement.

Example’s Current Situation

Keyword 1 – Ranked 11 (1200 searches a day so he is getting approx. 12 visitors for this)
Keyword 2 – Ranked 10 (2000 Searches for this so about 27 visitors)
Keyword 3 – Ranked 9 (300 daily searches so 3 visitors)
Keyword 4 – Ranked 8 (600 Daily Searches so about 34 visitors)
Keyword 5 – Ranked 7 (600 Daily Searches so about 24 visits per day)

The total of his 5 keywords are bringing in 100 visitors to his blog each and every day (Chances are there would be additional traffic coming in from social networking sites, direct, bookmarks, etc.)

Now he could try ranking his site for additional keywords, or try building up a huge Twitter following to drive more traffic to his blog, or he could simply work at beefing up the positions he already has. Now in this example we are only dealing with 5 to keep things simple and to use solely as a demonstration, but in real life you’d likely have hundreds here you could choose from.

If the above client were to work hard and improve his positioning’s on just these five keywords here is what would happen.

Example’s Improved Situation

Keyword 1 – Ranked 2 (1200 searches a day so he is getting approx. 204 visitors for this)
Keyword 2 – Ranked 1 (2000 Searches for this so about 680 visitors)
Keyword 3 – Ranked 5 (300 daily searches so 18 visitors)
Keyword 4 – Ranked 3 (600 Daily Searches so about 68 visitors)
Keyword 5 – Ranked 4 (600 Daily Searches so about 46 visits per day)

Now instead of getting 100 visitors to his blog, he’s enjoying over ten times that amount and has over 1000 visitors daily coming in. (Are you starting to see the importance of keyword research and implementing a keyword strategy?

We each have our own pool of keywords that are unique to our blog or website, and that we can start spending time improving and tweaking until we are able to squeeze out more traffic from them. Google already has the people searching for those keywords, it’s up to you to ensure that your site is there and able to be found when they do and has the type of content that can be expected to serve their purpose and yours.

How To Repay Favorite Bloggers




Most of us have a group of ten or twenty blogs that we frequent on a regular basis to either pass some time, or to further our knowledge on a certain subject. In most cases these bloggers devote countless hours each week toward researching, and then writing about a topic so that you the reader can benefit from it.
99% of bloggers online make very little in the way of compensation for all the hard work they put into their blogs. The .30 or .40 cents they make on an AdSense click will barely cover the hosting costs that are required each and every month. Add in domain renewals, search engine optimization expenses, and all the other fee’s that might be incurred and most of these hard working individuals are actually losing money each month.
You might ask why they would bother then. Well, the answer is simple! Most have an innate desire to help others succeed, and they are also looking forward to the day they themselves will succeed. You see most of us are on a journey toward somewhere different from where we are now. We are constantly striving to improve our status or position within society. If along the way, we can help others to succeed, even better.
So how can we as readers and visitors return the generosity of those bloggers? 

Here are a few ways that we can show our appreciation, and help them reach their goals at little or no expense to us.

  1. One of the most rewarding things a blogger can receive is feedback, or comments following a post they spent time writing. Even if it’s to ask a question, or offer up additional insight into the topic, it will be appreciated by the blog owner. It might take you a minute of your time, but it will mean a lot to the author.
  2. If you are on Twitter or Facebook, most bloggers have a way of sharing their content, either through a “like” or retweet button; they almost always have a way for their readers to share their content. A retweet might seem like such a small thing to you, but for the site owner it can mean an extra 40 or more visitors.
  3. If you see an advertisement that appeals to you, feel free to give it a click to read more about the product or service. Most bloggers have setup banners and other ads to help offset the costs of running their sites, and even though a click may be worth only a few cents, every bit helps. It’s important to note that you shouldn’t click on ads you aren’t interested in, as the advertiser is the one paying for those clicks, and there is no sense inflating their budget just to help out the site owner.
  4. When you’re in the market to purchase an item online, try and purchase it through a site that you’ve gotten a benefit from. Most of us are also affiliate marketers, and the links on our site are affiliate links. If you are picking up a copy of Market Samurai or Bookmarking Demon, you won’t pay any more for the item, but you will be helping out the blog owner as both these programs pay a $58.00 commission for the referral.
  5. Write about them on your own site, or perhaps give them a link if you’ve found an article that your readers would benefit from. In the world of SEO, backlinks are like votes from other websites, and can help boost your rankings and SERPS (Search Engine Ranking Position).
  6. Email them with a simple thank you. You’d be surprised with the ratio of “can you help me” emails to “thank you” emails.

It doesn’t take much on your part to show your appreciation, but the result over time can mean the difference between a favorite blogger of yours continuing to provide great content, and simply letting his blog fizzle out with only a post here and there when he or she happens to think about it.

Great Content Is A Must !




In several or many case, the thought of writing may seem a little frightening, I mean even with spell check we all seem to let a few spelling mistakes fall through the cracks that then appear for the entire world to see, and criticize.

So how exactly do we offer up great content for our readers? I mean we’d all agree that our readers are important and deserving of something special, and interesting to read on a regular basis. And furthermore since we as blog owners love the resulting traffic, we’d of course prefer it if they were getting those great articles from us!

So what is a blogger/writer to do?

  • Write ahead of time, don’t wake up at 8:00 am knowing you need to publish at 9:00 because chances are you won’t be mentally prepared, and by waiting till the last minute you are forcing yourself to produce quality, rather than letting it come naturally.
  •  I don’t know about you, but creativity isn’t something I can turn on at will. I have days where I can write a great article in no time at all, and others where I simply sit and stare at the screen, occasionally writing and then deleting the drivel I’d written, and hoping for some creative inspiration to strike.
  • Have a planned writing schedule. Sometimes having a schedule of what topics you’d like to cover, and when can take some of the stress of continually finding new subjects to write about out of the equation. Many sites have something similar to a calendar of events, only it’s more of an editorial calendar.
  • Research your topic. This might seem like common sense to some, but I often see articles that could be bolstered up with a few pertinent facts and figures that would go a long way toward shoring up the article, and giving it more substance.
  • Stay on topic. If you have a personal development blog where you go through the trials and tribulations of life, and how to get the most out of it, then wandering off to discuss your favorite keyword research tool, might not be the best idea. The readers you’ve attracted are there for the current topic, and articles, and many won’t even own a website or blog.
  • Make sure you follow through, if you tell your readers you are going to join the gym next week, and start sharing your experience, and successes with them, and then simply forget, or change your mind many of them will see it as a lack of commitment to not only yourself, but also to them, your readers!
  • Write informative “how to” articles that do something to either help your reader, or simply improve some aspect of their lives. Too often we are being sold in life, and too few seem to be the help we need from time to time.
  • Interact with your readers. We all know how much we appreciate comments on our blog, but if we don’t take the time to respond to as many readers (hopefully all if it’s possible) as we can, we’ll soon find fewer and fewer people taking the time to engage with us. The comments section of your blog is a great place to not only get to know your readers, but also find out what they enjoy most about your site, and perhaps what they’d like to see in the future.
  • Read through the finished post to make sure you’ve covered all the point’s you wanted to make. From time to time while I’m writing I’ll skip from one paragraph to the next, and if ever I forgot to head back and finish that first paragraph, I’m sure my readers would be wondering what the heck I was trying to get across. The simple act of reading your post before you publish it, can often show you things you might otherwise have overlooked.
  • Two words, “spell check”. Most programs have it built in, and even most email services include it as a standard feature. Nobody (least of all your loyal readers) expects you to be perfect, or even 90% grammatically correct, but taking the time to read through, and spell check a document can often show you a spelling mistake or two that take no more than a second to fix. The end result will be well worth it!
  • And last, but not least have fun with it! This isn’t like when we were back in college and being graded on every aspect of what we wrote. Most of us (including the professional bloggers among us) write because we enjoy it and have a need to share our knowledge, thoughts and experiences with others. In most cases it is this willingness to help others that determines how successful we are at what we do.
